Will I get acne when I'm older? Hereditary acne?

My mother didn't get acne until her mid-twenties. Until then her skin stayed very smooth. I'm 17 now and I have clear skin, but should I be worried the same thing will happen to me? If this little curse is hereditary Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening to me? Thanks
